I could use the help as well. I would love to build dashboards for my vintage synths. I've downloaded some, and using them as models, I've tried my own. Unfortunately, I can't get them to work. I know that my SysEx messages are correct, as they work when assigned to my Novation ReMote SL.

It's probably something very simple. It usually is.

Thanks folks.

more info please, 222! Do you send sys-ex to the VST host? which host? Only a few VST hosts are able to deal with MIDI sys-ex messages. Try to directly route MIDI to your instrument bypassing the host.

sorry 222, I can't help if you are not more specific.

I just re-checked one of my schematics exported as a VST plugin and it was able to send and receive MIDI data in SYS-EX format.
Things to consider:
- Send/receive directly to/from MIDI device where your instrument is connected to. Completely bypass the VST host.
- Use a MIDI monitor (e.g. MIDI OX) to check MIDI transmission
- Use virtual MIDI cables (e.g. MIDI YOKE) to route MIDI signals, e.g. from one VST instrument to another. So you could build a sender and a receiver plugin and test communication.
- Check for the existence of SYS-EX filters

Are you using the latest SM? VST plugin MIDI output was broken for a while in old SM2 versions - the bug was fixed in SM2.03, and the new SM2.04 has more bug fixes.
Feel free to use any schematics and algorithms I post on the forum in your own designs - a credit is appreciated (but not a requirement).

That schematic is too messy to encourage others to help.

Take a single control and the Preset Manager and make a VST with it. If the problem is still present post that file and maybe someone here might be able to trouble-shoot. But posting spider-web OSMs rarely gets people to pitch in.

On why it doesn't update on Preset change... it's because the wireless trigger "After Preset Change" is connected to the regular midi event (which is connected to a dead wireless MIDI out) but not the sysex.

You can use the standard LEDs from the toolbox (GUI folder) - they work as buttons too if you click on them. You can load your own 'On' and 'Off' .png's into them from their properties panel.
