Synthmaker V2 & Flowstone Cross Grade!

Postby admin on Tue Dec 14, 2010 3:18 pm

We are planning to release Synthmaker V2 later this week :)

As per our previous message regarding cross grading to FlowStone from Synthmaker, we will hold the cross grade price until V2 of Synthmaker is released.

So now is you last chance to take advantage of this special introductory offer!

http://www.synthmaker.co.uk/buycross.php

UPDATE: V2 is out early :) The cross grade option will remain open now until midnight GMT on the 24th December.

Hello Malc, more information about it would help the choice :)

Knowing if V2 is a core update or just a module port from Flowstone may help a bunch of people decide which way they want to go

As they have said before Synthmaker is for Music and FlowStone is for Engineering (no VST Export!). The core will be the same for sure, it makes no sense to do it otherwise!

So only people interested in interfacing to Electronics will be interested in cross-grading to FlowStone. If you cross grade you have both programs so you have the best of both worlds.

SynthMaker for Music
FlowStone for Electronics & Engineering

I hope Synthmaker V2 is free for all those who have bought Synthmaker Standard Edition recently (like me).

That is completely untrue but hey run with that if you like
I have seen games databases and all sorts made in synthmaker
And by core update i mean extensions of the code module green timing and a bunch of other stuff we saw about 5 years ago in SynthmakerX
Updating the core doesn't make sense ? Sorry but i and i suspect a lot of others can't agree with you there

XoechZ - The Synthmaker V2 upgrade is only 20 pounds anyway.
Maybe if you bought SM in the last 30 days you will get a free upgrade?

NAS - All I quoted was what OutSim had announced previously?

Thanks for the info FrreRideSkier!
Bad luck, I bought it at the end of October. But 20 pounds is affordable :-)

Is there already something like a changelog available? Or a list of new features?

Sorry for the questions, but I have some SM projects in progress and I want to know if I should wait for the update before finishing them :-)

I had always hoped SM would become a more generic programming environment doing pretty much everything.
But It seems SM will be nothing more than a synth making tool, which is fair enough I can't complain because that is what I paid for.

I've taken advantage of the crossgrade offer because I'm interested in the video and webcam stuff as well as robotics. I don't expect any of that stuff to be moved over to SM.

All I can say to people is if you want to interface with the outside world, experiment with video, motion detection, home automation, robotics and stuff like that then get Flowstone. If your only interest is synths and effects then stick with Synthmaker!

Cheers ;)

And one more thing does it support old SM1 files? I mean all of the first version or do i have to remake all pluggs?

And if it support hose its intresting.

Now this is good news.

Could cost some quality time with the family during xmas though :D

1. This crossgrade offer is only fair if we know what exactly is SM 2. Just FS´s modules ported over, or a new engine?
2. If I crossgrade and then I pay 20 pounds, do I end having both FS and SM 2?

+1. More information required. Especially about licence conditions - will SM2 be Free/Enterprise/Pro? ATM my 'Personal' SM is same as everyone else's - the only restrictions are in terms of exploiting my designs commercially (as a hobbyist I'm fine with that) - but 'Enterprise' FlowStone (=SM 'Personal' equivalent?) has functional limitations; does my £20 SM2 upgrade pay for less ASIO ins/outs and smaller schematics than I am allowed currently?

EDIT: I just sent a mail to SM admin asking for some clarification of this issue - I'll let you all know what they have to say.
Feel free to use any schematics and algorithms I post on the forum in your own designs - a credit is appreciated (but not a requirement).

Would be nice to get a discount going from 1.x personal to 2.x standard or pro or what ever. more interestewd in that than a robotic crossgrade ;)
