Round scope wave display

Postby acg2010 on Mon May 21, 2012 11:53 pm

I have taken the wave display scope and modified it to attempt to make it round by replacing the FRRect primative with the elipse primative to give the outline as a circle, then added an image module for the background. As standalone or hooked up to a vst or impulse wave, it looks OK but placed into a synth with a background or graphics, the displayed wave goes outside the circle background.

I think I already know the answer, but is it possible to constrain the display to stay within the circle part of the display?

I tried adding another image background to mask it, tried changing the GraphLin module curve boolean to true, plus a few other things. Maybe measure the amplitude of the wave at each left and right sides of the display and attenuate it if exceeds?

I do not know if this can be useful, but I use a mask for the circle, a Hole-GUI.

Thanks DigitalWhiteByte, I think that is it, I didn't consider a mask with a hole, a simple solution. I just need to figure out how to get the mask to fit into the scheme of the synth GUI.

Thanks again,
