Lua & OpenGL

Postby TheAudiophileDutchman on Fri Sep 21, 2007 12:25 pm

By accident, I just came across a platform-independent OpenGL library, which appears to be also suitable for Lua:
http://glfw.sourceforge.net

...then, after getting curious and browsing the net:
http://luagl.wikidot.com/

@Devs: Could one of these (or other) libraries possibly aid in replacing the current GDI+ driven GUI with (hardware-accelerated) OpenGL when Lua gets adopted in a future SM release? O:)

I put an OpenGL request some time ago but there was no feedback...great if there's some chance 2 see it implemented!

they did include a D3d video module in Flowstone, perhaps they could make a way of controlling some shapes and graphics in the D3d window, rather than just playing video. d3d windows with some animation capability like shockwave flash could make ok graphs, xy displays, etc.

+1 Anything to make the GUI faster.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
