Unk thoughts on this ?
I think in working out some better waves than standard pulse and saw, but not exactly the Joonoo ones. A kind of "analogueque" Pulse/Saw. Maybe add a slave subosc, and duplicate teh main osc with fixed, very soft detunning.
Nu Audio Science wrote:I think if we pull away a little from the restrictions of the 303 design we can create an even better monobass, What is everyone elses take on this ?
If we do pull away from the 303 we need to decide wich features will be kept.
My votes
1 18db filter
Count on mee for this
Nu Audio Science wrote:2 Sequencer
Absolutely, althought i'm locked on it by now
Nu Audio Science wrote:3 Simple decay only envelope
Mmm Simple "decay controlable ADSR". I think internally it should hav a small, near -non noticeable attack, to avoid clicks
Also, maintaining the DEcay-only concept, i think a Curve type param (Plain/exponential/logarithmic) would also be nice
Nu Audio Science wrote:Beyond keeping those i'm not too fussed, Maybe even multiple filter types ?
It's hard to imagine any filter for a monobass diferent than an LPF. Anyway, we can offer diferent LPF's ( original 18 dB, biquad stacked ofr 12/24, stacked svf ( ala joonoo), Tarrabia Filter)
For other goodies I probably vote for maintaining Accent, Note Slide, and maybe adding an a simple , analog-style arpegiator ( which is diferent from the sequencer). But all of this are not important as previous ones
