I (still) don't know exactly what it's suposed to be used for , But i feel that triggering adsr isn't its function

We must wait jorge explains a bit

You know i'm thinking the saw shapes from Joono should go in this ?
Unk thoughts on this ?
I think if we pull away a little from the restrictions of the 303 design we can create an even better monobass, What is everyone elses take on this ?

If we do pull away from the 303 we need to decide wich features will be kept.
My votes
1 18db filter
2 Sequencer
3 Simple decay only envelope

Beyond keeping those i'm not too fussed, Maybe even multiple filter types ?

I think in working out some better waves than standard pulse and saw, but not exactly the Joonoo ones. A kind of "analogueque" Pulse/Saw. Maybe add a slave subosc, and duplicate teh main osc with fixed, very soft detunning.

Count on mee for this

Absolutely, althought i'm locked on it by now

Nu Audio Science wrote:3 Simple decay only envelope

Mmm Simple "decay controlable ADSR". I think internally it should hav a small, near -non noticeable attack, to avoid clicks
Also, maintaining the DEcay-only concept, i think a Curve type param (Plain/exponential/logarithmic) would also be nice

It's hard to imagine any filter for a monobass diferent than an LPF. Anyway, we can offer diferent LPF's ( original 18 dB, biquad stacked ofr 12/24, stacked svf ( ala joonoo), Tarrabia Filter)

For other goodies I probably vote for maintaining Accent, Note Slide, and maybe adding an a simple , analog-style arpegiator ( which is diferent from the sequencer). But all of this are not important as previous ones

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah a bassline with an arp, How about if the sequencer patterns could be triggered by keys over MIDI aswell (Even possible ? )

I agree with the rest of your post, Keep accent and slide and have a choice of LPFs and so on :)

OK J+H has done his usual rubbish and now (Within one day) that site is no longer available, He has already deleted all his posts at KVR so it's unlikely to be back soon :(

Good think I saved everything to my HD... check your cache; might be there too. Thanks for the tip-off.

A similar thing seemed to happen to the author of Buzz; the dude's HD with all the source (& only copy) crashed out, & he more or less disapeared. Once everty 1.5 years he pops up with a demo of something else, but that's all.

Which reminds me... time to do some backups ;)

I check for J+Hs site everyday (I still harbour a small hope that Devils Whisper will get released even though he sold it to another company)

Sold it to another company? Care to go into details?

If you're an oldtimer on KVR, you might know my stormy relationship with him... as much as I respect his coding skills, I've never managed to understand his 180 degree turns on things on a daily basis...

And I've been waiting for his magical "coded from scratch" bassmachine to appear some day... and will probably continue until I'm senile enough.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but everything he has released with his J&H handle are projects based on other peoples' code. Whereas the 'coded from scratch' projects aren't available to public... makes one wonder :)

But thank dog we don't have to rely on unstable german developers, we can build our own now :)

My project will go through some serious redesign once again. I've had access to a DevilFish (and if everything goes fine it'll be mine!) and I've gone through my current featurelist (most of what is at to-do stage) and changed a lot.

Little birds told me btw that one certain company with experience in 303 emulation will work on extended, somewhat DevilFish-based bigger model... Happy days for us 303-oriented people :)

Regards,

JMH

PS The new smileys =) Great ones :D

is there a downloadable version of your work so far available?

I'm mega curious - Frank (the original author) is an old friend of mine, we both doodled with 303-emulation in our teens ... Frank kept going, and apparently the results he reached are better than most 303 emulations I've seen.

If you guys have unresolved issues with his source code, I may be able to lure him onto this forum and provide some help ... let me know.

I think porting it to SM is an awesome initiative, I'd be happy to help in any way I can ... perhaps with GUI graphics or something? (I made most of the GUI graphics in Synapse's audio products)

:)

Yeah this will be picked again SOON, I just have some other work stuff to sort out first, We have actually decided to pull away from the emulation and just create a good bass synth with parts of the Creakbox code like the filter and so on, But we wanted to add stuff in and take some stuff out so we decided against a full Emulation ;)

Anything you can help out with is always appreciated here in the projects section, And anybody else you can bring along is always more than welcome here :)

There is an OSM a few posts back that you can load into SM but it hasnt been updated for quite a few versions so it may have problems.

I'm about to restart this entirely so if anyone has any ideas or schematics i should look at point em out now, Hopefully we can get something worth releasing to promote SM.

Oh if anybody knows of any low CPU nice sounding filter code that has already been posted in the forums let me know ;)

It'd be cool to see this project ressurected! I've been unable to spend the time I'd have liked to with SM recently, I'd intended on having a nice little demo synth done by now but alas it hasn't happened - yet!
