PC Keyboard Module

Postby trogluddite on Fri Mar 12, 2010 9:26 pm

Surprised I didn;'t find this in my searches...

Would be nice to have a proper PC keyboard module to use for custom input modules and shortcut keys. The current 'Key Pressed' primitive is very limiting because of the way it still reads the keyboard even when the plugin/exe isn't the focused window. In a VST you could close the editor, but for exe's that's no good.
The PC Keyboard MIDI input does behave as expected in this regard - any chance of a modified version that just outputs the keypresses rather than MIDI notes?
An Integer output for the keycode combined with booleans for the modifier keys (CTRL,ALT etc.) would be lovely.
Feel free to use any schematics and algorithms I post on the forum in your own designs - a credit is appreciated (but not a requirement).
Don't stagnate, mutate to create. Without randomness and serendipity the earth would be just another barren rock.

yes that would be nice!
BUT to get around the problem with the focus and the keys it would be also nice to have a
AppOpen Primitive that works with EXE´s like the EditorOpen Primitive with Plugins.
