Possible bug with code component

Postby Slobos on Mon Sep 13, 2010 1:51 am

Hello, here is short description of the bug:

I created component that will send integers to CODE component on "monoin" input. Component will set "monoout" to value based on input. I then process output values.
If I use component inside editor, CODE component will operate as programmed. If I compile the code in to standalone EXE, CODE component will receive input but output will always return 0.

I checked this several times and this is exact behavior. If someone is interested I can send more detailed information and screenshots or saved project.

P.S.
This problem does not show only when building EXE, it used to show up in editor as well, but I am not able to reproduce same behavior any more.

Welcome to the forum Slobos.
First thought is that it may be that there is no driver running - have you selected your soundcard in the .exe 'Audio' menu (it defaults to no audio active).
In the editor and in .exe's, stream components (blue and white connections) don't get calculated unless there is an active ASIO or DirectSound driver.
If that's not the problem then you will need to post your schematic so that we can have a look.
Feel free to use any schematics and algorithms I post on the forum in your own designs - a credit is appreciated (but not a requirement).

I rember there was a bug when feeding the code component with Integers. Try convert to float (run through a Float element) before.

Thank you for a nice welcome, I am likewise glad to be here.

Now to the subject:

I did not have audio driver selected and when I did it worked.
But I also read all three manuals and was not able to find that information.

Glad you fixed it.

You'll get used to that - SM is fantastic software, but SM manuals are not so good - mostly the Wiki and the forum are the best places to learn.

Good to knew. I am looking for a way to select array of preset values by integer index but can't really find anything, or maybe how to create graphs or use routing matrix or use FFT display...
