Howdy folks,
It's been a while since I've been a regular here, but I drop in from time to time. Been very busy with the life thing & wish I was free enough of it to do the things I like (including electronic music).
Here's my delimma...
It's been another long day and I had my first introduction to my daughter's vocal coach at her session earlier today.
We talked about the issue of pitch and I thought it might be possible to help vocalists with pitch by having a differential comparator that would queue the vocalist when they drift out of the pitch window. I guess this is more of a vocal excercise tool. My first thought was to have an oscilliscope display that would sync the frequencies between the oscillator and the vocalist and would give a visual queue to the accuracy of the pitch.
So, for example, there would be two signal displays on the scope:
one for the vocalist
one fot the oscillator
If the vocalist was sharp of the oscillator frequency, the vocalist signal display would "drift" to the right, and correspondingly drift left if they were flat. Kind of like an electronic tuner.
Hey, that gave me an idea.
In the mean time, do any of you folks have a recommendation?
Thanks,
-Doug
