Yup, that's the beauty of SM - making nice little gadgets that do just what I want; rather than paying a fortune for 'bloatware' that can do what I want,but only after I've found out how to disable all the tat that I don't need.

Just like food - using a super-duper 17 oscillator synth for every single sound is like cooking a single dish with curry sauce, onion gravy, chinese sweet-and-sour and bolognese (guess you can tell I was a student once!).
Much better to balance a few rich flavours with some solid "single-oscillator" starchy carb's! - which also leaves a lot less mess to clean up (dirty saucepans / EQ'ing out all the mud from your mix).

the 2 OSC (!) sound with 1(!) Modulation Source smashed me from my chair and on the other side of the room on the wall...ouch .. whAT A SOUND...

Oooh, you lucky boy!
I still regret selling off most of my analogue kit, but I needed the money too badly. Still got a knackered old Teiso 60F (couldn't sell that one - no-one had even heard of Teisco!). Only 1 osc, 1 LFO, 1 ADSR, but I still love to fire it up every now and then. It still makes some pretty potent bass and leads - and there's something nice about not having presets - you get to follow your own instincts instead of letting the designer lead the way.
