Thanks m8, this will come in REALLY handy for my little APC40 project any chance you could explain how it work? also, some tools to see what a device is putting out i.e midi note numbers and so on would be a great tool. could the switched be made to take midi signals?.

yes by changing the numbers (i hope you talk about buttons)
