modules for filtering/blocking bitmaps with given size

Postby philter5 on Wed May 02, 2012 11:22 pm

since i am cleaning up my HDD and sorting out stuff here are some more or (better) less "usefull" modules that
somebody could find a use for. If not do it as i did and traSh it ! :)

Thanks Phil! You have other goodies in the shadows of harddisk?

A LOT OF messy and chaotic modules, badly named like "24gjgr.osm" or "shrgru89tz4h3f.osm" or even worse...
and ind the darkest corner , perfectly hidden, a "few" goodies´like this here, but nothing really spectactular.
most modules are only containing some equal logic or other math and a multiplexer or selector. ;)
i will upload a module collection asap, but atm i habe to finish 2 other projects first...

Image browser in Synthmaker? Why not? :P

Seriously, I keep to aggregate a large collection of library modules, but recently I see onlly the ones with doubtful use. Looks like the possibilities of music creation have been already exhausted ;)
Addictive synthesis.

@warmonger, This thread deals with graphics, if you have not noticed up to now. Or you refer to schematics made by you?
Seriously...

Edit: Later I saw that today is your birthday. So Happy Birthday!

Using Synthmaker for music creation only is like using photoshop to draw black lines only (the red lines are done in paint because they look so much better !). even if your possibilities of music creation have been already exhausted, mine haven´t. and , just as additional info, this module was made FOR a music creation tool, to be exactly:
it is part of a image2wavetable converter . :

happy birthday :)

And where we can find this image2wavetable if may I ask? I like such geek toys ;-)

Is it using some "magnification" routines for averaging values (like OCR for patterns) instead of running pixel after pixel?
Need to take a break? Looking for relaxing sounds? I have something right for you.

no it uses the get pixel primitive but i modified it to read 32x32 pixel images only. but the magnification thing sounds interesting.

It's just a thought, I don't know algos for that ;-) But considering that two differently compressed jpg's will contain different pixels but the same image/shape - it would be interesting to convert the picture to music, not the pixels.

Second thing to imagine - it would be the direction. Instead left-to-right, I would see some matrix/routine that reflects a structure of the image (using freqs, vibrations, ratios phase/panning offsets, progressions - to relocalize sonic points), following the crucial elements (gravity centers, centers of focus). So the image would sonically emerge like a spatial picture.

yes this can be a very complex task... ;)

Maybe not so. There are existing algos, like for 3D rendering or bitmap to vector conversion or object recognition, maybe some fractal based reconstruction/reflection. I suppose that these could be used for "seed" and "progression field" (gradient) detection. Besides - sometimes the most impressive results are coming from most simple ideas.
