New Release 0.9.3g

A summary of additions and fixes:

- new MIDI Pitch Bend component (beta)
- crash on exit can sometimes occurs if you've been working with pens
- In Cubase the VST causes drawing glitches when changing presets
- In some hosts, saved projects do not restore SM plugins when re-opened
- VSTs don't update the host's preset status when shifting preset using the VST gui
- The random ID generator for VSTs is not very random
- In the code component, sin1 could cause the software to hang
- Also in the code component cos1 only works for the first note pressed
- Boolean types don't pass through the Selector
- Move in/out of module menu shortcut key labels are wrong
- Data sizes for sound processes can get too large causing sound glitches

New Release 0.9.3o

There are two important issues to note with this release. The first is that module front panel redraws are now completely your responsibility. This wasn’t the case before and all modules would redraw on left-button up. If you find that a module doesn’t seem to be working now it is most probably because of this change. All you need to do is add an explicit redraw to the module. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience but the change makes the policy consistent across the board.

The second point to note is that we’ve moved some components to different groups on the filter bar. The Windows group has been removed. The three dialog components that were in the Windows group have been moved to the GUI group instead. The Text View module has been moved to the Control group and the R&D parser components have been moved to Code. There is a new group called Other that houses everything that isn’t in the other groups.

Because the groups have changed you're best doing a clean install and copying over your modules from the previous one into the new install's modules folder.

A summary of additions and fixes:

– New timer component that you can start and stop
– WTimer changes to Ticker 25 and now works in exported VST’s
– Redraw bug when nudging modules and tabbing between windows
– Other New components: Counter, Slide, Rule Alpha, Rule Plus

New Release 0.9.3t

Firstly our apologies for the drop in stability over the last few incremental releases. Bugs are an inevitable pitfall of making big changes to functionality. By introducing the arrays and correcting the redrawing issue we introduced quite a few bugs. Whilst many have been fixed we still have more to do so please bear with us. Thanks for your patience.

The following summary comprises all changes from the last documented release to this one..

Additions and fixes:

– Many of the sound bugs introduced with the new arrays have been fixed
– Various selector bugs
– The crash on exit that some of you were experiencing should now be fixed
– No triggers are sent when you copy and paste now (this was causing strange behaviour)
– The toolbox “tried to read past end of file” message box bug is fixed
– Toolbox loads much faster, this is most noticeable with larger toolboxes
– Many enhancements to the way the green components respond to triggers
– Compiles are disabled when DS or ASIO Out are switched off or missing
– Bug in MIDI Event component that was causing triggers to be sent when the parameters change
– Fixed many redraw glitches introduced in earlier releases
– Bug in font component, size was being used incorrectly
– Fixed Redraw Component which now just redraws the next module panel in the View path

– Timer now continues if you change the duration instead of stopping

New Release 0.9.3v

This new release is short but hopefully sweet. First we’ve finally fixed the cpu overrun issue in generated VST/i’s. Sorry this took so long. We’ve also now added MIDI Out so you can control other MIDI devices from SynthMaker or create MIDI effects and export them to VST.

The following summary comprises all changes from the last documented release to this one.

– Bug in compilation of tan1 in the code component
– Input and output labels are now recognised in a generated VST/i

New Release 0.9.3w

We’re tackling the sound engine instabilities that we introduced recently one step at a time. First up for treatment is the Analyser. This should work much better now and hopefully shouldn’t crash.

On the VST side we now have parameter automation support.

New Release 0.9.3x

Bug fixes have been top priority lately so this latest release has a bunch of them. We still have more to go but this is a start. The sound engine is still undergoing repairs.

One fix to note is that the MIDI channel passed from the MIDI Splitter was one out ie. it would show 0 for MIDI channel 1, 1 for channel 2 and so on. You may need to make appropriate changes to your schematics so that they work with this.

Additions and fixes:

– Analyser has undergone alot of stability work
– ASIO, MIDI and DirectSound components were not redrawing correctly when changing selections
– Application was crashing after uninstall followed by reinstall
– The Drag Accumulate components were preventing mouse events from flowing to other components
– The Drag Accumulate components were causing the data components to lock out
– View links established via the To Parent component were causing mouse events to be processed in the wrong order
– Tooltip width was incorrect for single line tooltips
– MIDI channel was one less than it should be
– Apparently random crash caused by redrawing certain components
– Float and Int divide by zero was not being handled
– MIDI CC now has a separate trigger for messgaes received
– When connecting the template outputs of the Multiplexer to other template connectors the type deosn't get set initially
– Moving a link from a template out connector between two fixed type connectors with different types doesn' change the type
– Copying a bus together with the definition string deosn't work correctly
– Graphics glitch when dragging a module whose redraw is managed by a timer
– When zoomed in the measure of proximity to links was being scaled according to the zoom level
– The Filter Bar connector types have been updated
– Conversions between types are now done in the output connector so there should be no need to force a conversion now
– You can now toggle PC Keyboard by hitting Return or SHIFT+Esc from anywhere in your schematic
– Selector logic was incorrect and was causing odd results in some schematics

Some more bug fixes including one that would cause seemingly random and other odd crashes using VST/i's in Cubase SX and Ableton Live.

There are a bunch of experimental components for bitmap handling plus those missing mouse event handlers.

New Release 0.9.3z

Although this is a small release we thought it should be an incremental in it's own right because it fixes a fairly important bug in the VST export. We introduced this problem a few releases ago and it affects the way that mono inputs and outputs are interpreted by the host app.

Additions and fixes:

– VST inputs and outputs were not being interpreted as stereo pairs
– VST was defaulting to 1 program and 1 parameter instead of none
– Enhancement to Pitch to Freq component to make it more precise

New Release 0.9.4

Despite the increase in point number, this is still an incremental release - we just ran out of letters .

Mainly bug fixes and a few other small additions. I spent alot of time on trying to re-write the timers. I went through several iterations spending over a week in total but ended back where I started. There are too many issues associated with some of the other solutions for us to be dealing with at this stage so timers remain as they are I'm afraid.

The install folder changes with this release. Also the recent files list is now stored in the Outsim key in the registry so your recent file list will start from scratch - sorry about this.

– Quicker initialisation of sound processes
– Envelopes placed before a Selector could cause cpu overruns
– The Edit Control component has a new output for determining whether you are editing or not
– You can now set the number of entries in the recent file list and clear it
– Problems when running as User when if you installed as Admin have been resolved

– Fixed problem with slow preset changing in a VST/i when done through the host interface
– Fixed problem with refreshing of VST/i gui when changing preset

New Release 0.9.4a

Some more bug fixes and the beginnings of wave file support.

Additions and fixes:

– When adding links from float outputs to an Int input, rounding was happening before the addition instead of after
– Int rounding was not behaving correctly
– ADSRsr had not been updated to incorporte changes made to ADSR in the last release
– Float Log and Float Power performance enhancements
– Bug in compile/run mechanism that can sometimes cause crashes

– Bus extract doesn't restore output types if they are connected to a module

– Realtime tweaking of parameters (moving knobs etc.) has no effect while playing a note
