BOOTSY WINS KvR AUDIO DEVELOPER CHALLENGE '09
Many congratulations to SynthMaker guru Bootsy who won this year's KvR Audio Developer Contest. His entry FerricTDS, a Tape Dynamics Simulator effect plug-in, was the clear favourite scooping more than double the votes of the second placed entry.
FerricTDS is one of many outstanding plugins that Bootsy has created with SynthMaker. You can check them all out on his site (see links below).
This is the third Developer Contest run by KvR Audio which attracted 41 entries all competing for a prize fund in excess of $1800
This new release massively improves compatibility with Windows 7 & Vista User Account Control (UAC).
In addition, we have a number of other fixes and enhancements that continue to improve reliability.
Changes include a fix to prevent sound glitches and crashes with exported exes on some P4 systems, much quicker copy and paste in large schematics and case sensitive syntax colouring in the code component.
SYNTHMAKER MANUAL ON YOU TUBE
Forum member pawn1one has posted an excellent video version of the SynthMaker user guide. For anyone that prefers listening over reading this is a great alternative to the static manual.
NEW RELEASE 1.1.4
We've been focusing on VST plugin compatibility for this release. As a result weve managed to isolate and fix a number of important stability issues.
In particular, deleting SM generated plugins inside a host should now be much more stable than before.
NEW RELEASE 1.1.3
Today we are very pleased to announce the release of SynthMaker 1.1.3
Sorry for the long wait. We had several quite difficult issues to deal with and these swallowed up a great deal of our time.
This release is all about fixes and enhancements to get the software on a sounder footing. In particular we completely changed the way that Float, Int and Boolean components integrate with stream sections. This makes the initialisation of sound processes much faster and so vastly decreases the potential for clicks when you play a note.
One other issue that had us tied in knots for a while is a change to the way that hops work. We had to change this because it was the culprit for many of the clicking problems that some people were having. I will post separately on exactly what we changed and how it might affect you. For the vast majority this will have no effect - other than to fix the clicking of course :-)
There are a few small enhancements. For example, pasting will now occur at the mouse position and text and code components retain their scroll positions. However, mostly this release is about improving stability.
SYNTHMAKER IN SOUND ON SOUND
SynthMaker features in this month's Sound On Sound magazine.
The article on DIY plugin development gives an overview of the tools available on the market and highlights "SynthMaker's slick GUI" and built in code component.
The September issue is in shops now. If you want to read the article immediately you can buy it for £0.99 directly from the Sound On Sound web site.
